THE 3RD OF JULY AT THE TOWER Aloha Tower puts on a great fireworks show a day early. Celebrate the 3rd of July from 3 – 10 p.m with lots to do for the family, food and live music. The fireworks display begins at 8 p.m. 528-5700.

ALA MOANA BLOWOUT Ala Moana Center sponsors the annual Magic Island fireworks display (among the country’s 25 largest). The makai parking deck (by Sears) will open at 4 p.m. with an outdoor concert featuring top local performers from 5 – 8:30 p.m. Choregraphed to music, turn on KUMU 94.7FM and KCCN FM100 during the 18-minute display. Free.

MACFARLANE REGATTA Waikiki Beach will be packed for the annual Walter J. MacFarlane Canoe Regatta. It’s an exciting event to watch for visitors and local alike as canoes race to the finish line, catching waves along the way. Depending on surf size, the waves can make for an expecially exciting finishes! Duke’s is packed all day, and a flotilla (party) starts up about a 1/4-mile off shore..bring your own flotation device! Be sure to tell those guests to be akamai in the water.

NORTH SHORE FIREWORKS Head to the north shore for a traditional celebration complete with games, food, entertainment, and more at the Turtle Bay Resort. The event will culminate with fantastic fireworks. Free admission & parking. 293-6000.

KAILUA PARADE & FEST Kailua Chamber of Commerce puts on an annual Parade and Festival with plenty to entertain the whole family. 10 a.m. 261-2727.

NAVATEK Set sail on the 3rd or the 4th for firework action from the water. The Royal Sunset dinner is sold out so only the Sunset Buffet is available. 6:15 p.m., returns at 9:15 p.m. Prices/packages vary. 973-1311.
